The Mactan-Cebu International Airport has been operating on overcapacity over the past few years and we all can’t wait for Terminal 2 to open late next year! And to further improve the passenger experience by making available all types of transportation options possible at the airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport and Uber Philippines have partnered up in what I would call a “perfect match”.
Last Friday, GMCAC and Uber Systems Inc. announced together that passengers can now book an Uber ride as they arrive or depart the Queen City of the South. Push a button, get a ride, celebrate Cebu!
With this new partnership between GMCAC and Uber, passengers traveling to and from Cebu can now secure a ride with ease through the Uber app. I’ve been doing such since Uber was first made available in Cebu, even if their entry to the airport was not yet “legal”.
“We at GMCAC envision Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) to not only be a world-class facility but one that welcomes our 10-million strong and growing annual passenger base with warm and friendly Filipino hospitality. WE wish to show this in our terminal facilities, in our people and in the way people access their destinations to an from MCIA. Our partnership with Uber Philippines is a testament to our commitment to continually find ways to make our passengers’ journeys safe, convenient and enjoyable.,” said GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation President Louie Ferrer.
“Partnering with the GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation for the Mactan-Cebu International Airport is an important opportunity for Uber to once again provide more people with a transportation service that is safe, reliable, and convenient. With the simple push of a button, passengers to and from the airport can now get a ride and be part of the movement to celebrate Cebu.,” shared Uber Philippines General Manager Laurence Cua.
